We believe in the preservation of a cleaner, safer and healthier Blue Planet. It’s our responsibility to protect the environment and with 36,000 employees and customers, we can make a big impact. Republic Services collected 6.4 million tons of recycled materials last year, has converted over 2,200 vehicles in our fleet to natural-gas, and has been recognized by authorities such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, CDP, Barron’s, Forbes, Ethisphere Institute and we’re a certified Great Place to Work.
National Neighborhood Promise™
Through the Republic Services Charitable Foundation, our National Neighborhood Promise program focuses on neighborhood revitalization projects in the areas where our employees and customers live. These range from beautification efforts, community cleanups and the revitalization of public parks and playgrounds. We support these efforts through granted funds, donated products and services and volunteer opportunities for our employees.
Recycling Simplified
Many people “wishcycle,” meaning they put an item in their recycling bin hoping that somewhere down the line, it will be recycled. But unfortunately this mindset leads to contamination.
